I been having a stock since Febuary and now I have 50% pluss and something I can never get by one day.

Day trading is too much work and too much of a gamble.. Rather just invest in undervalued stocks. and hold them.

I've traded for the last five years on and off. The last few months I've soaked up every chart pattern, financial term definition, every option strategy, watched the news like a hawk. And still at the exact same amount. For every day or swing trade profit I have a loss. My best friend just made 15 grand on Kodak. I almost bought with him. Now he has 18 grand and i still have 5g. I refuse to put more than 5 to 7 hundred per trade. Maybe my strategy is weak. I grew paper trading account exponentially starting with 5 grand and using it all per trade. But thats fake money and with my hard earned money I just can't do it. Maybe I should just go long and keep adding here and there. Times are tough and I just want to succeed for my family.

Hello, I don't have any knowledge about trading so I have some questions that hopefully will help me understand. This whole idea of selling the same day, seems to me that it doesn't have any added value at all (except for the traders who make profit). Do companies benefit from daytrading? If yes, how? If not, can they suffer from it (and shouldn't this short term thinking be regulated in that case)? I see adds everywhere about this, tons of experts trying to convince others to start daytrading. Is my hunch correct that this system requires a lot of losers to have some winners? Thanks a lot!

25 y/o did 5 years in the army. I invested my pension in mutual funds which I can't touch for 30 years. I am 50/50 in high and medium high risk. I am confident that the long term is going to pay off

Part of the "secret" of day trading is this;
Never over-leverage (2x is good, 5x is a lot, 10x is more than a lot and is risky, 20x-400x is a coin flip).
Use MACD, Moving averages and RSI indicators. Never, ever buy at the peak of a minute, 5//10/15/30m or 4 hour time period. If the weekly and daily chart are in your favour look for prices that match the fundamentals of the trade.
Don't hold over the weekend unless you have very low leverage.
Once you're in the profit, set a trailing stop loss from that point onwards, don't give profits back.
Only use 1-5% of your account balance on any one trade.
Drip in trades throughout the day, dips in stocks usually occur after market open
Bet on trending securities that have mid – low volatility.
Cash out when you're at a 5-10% gain unless you bought during a black swan dip and see a reversal

With this, it's possible to make a 1-2% weekly return without yolo'ing your funds on everything.
In July I made 6.3% profit by doing this. Usually I'd cash out when my position was 2-3% up and reload the funds into a new position. The trick being that I had over 20+ positions that were swinging. If a stock went up 0.5-1% in a day, I was making 2-5% profit and cashing out. If it went the other way? I'd hold for a bit, I had enough funds so i could hold any position for a year without much issue.

The trick behind all investing and trading is to have a strategy and formula. If a stock is down 1% today, but is up 3% this month. Is below it's all time high, you could easily make 2-3% returns in a matter of days without much stress. Which is 10x greater than the s and p 500.

The difference between day trading, swing trading and investing is the difference between gambling, card counting blackjack and being the dealer.
The dealer is gonna make consistent profit, has very low risk and will retire and be comfortable. The balls in his court.
The card counter will make some big wins, could also make big losses, he has a strategy and if he's consistent can beat the casino, but most of them get caught out because they become greedy or become emotional
The gambler isn't entering the market with the intention of making wealth, but just making some funds, he could make enough to quit working for the rest of his life and retire at 25, or could lose it all…

Investing in Dividend stocks, ETF's, Growth stocks and commodities when they dip will, over the long term. Be the safer and more consistent way to make money. If you invest 10k into the market and diversify it, in 43 years you'll be a millionaire.
Swing trading toes that line. You could double or triple your returns, be a millionaire within 12 years at a 3-4% monthly rate.
Gambling is gambling, you may be 500% up but it'll go, quick.

My advice is to mix and match, don't just own 1 stock or do 1 thing. Have 20 different stocks, swing trade 20 different other stocks, buy up cheap commodities and cheap stocks, maybe even take 5% of your funds and leverage it 5x and bet it on gold or silver.
It's up to you! Play safe. You get one-shot people.

I try to trade in undervalued stocks so if stocks went lower in price i know company is strong, profitable and valuable therefore with little bit patience it will go higher and higher and i will recover. Stupid people try to trade in stocks that has no value so they lose and holding can't even save them.
