Education, paper trading and live trading with low shares should be used together to acheive success in the stock market.
What is Paper Trading?
-Trading stocks with a fake account or with fake money
-A way to practice before doing live trading
How to Train:
-Get as much education as possible
-Begin paper trading
-Do live trading on low shares in order to gain experience (if you have a stock worth /share, don’t trade more than 5 shares
-Example: as the stock market goes up, add 1 share (this will cost you commissions, but you will gain experience), and continue adding one share at a time as it goes up.
-Commissions can cost from – per trade. You will be losing money. This business requires your time and money in order to gain education.
-Put these numbers into an excel spreadsheet and multiply them based on the number of shares you want to trade in the future. See if you’re making a healthy profit.
-If you’re consistently successful and you’re trading properly, then begin live trading with larger shares.
Why Live Trading With Low Shares is Essential
-The problem with paper trading is the trade executions will fill automatically, but they might not in live trading: stocks might be more scarce, trade timing might be off, etc.
-Your mindset is changed in live trading (anxiety, fear, you’re using real money, etc)
-Many people are successful with paper trading, but not with live trading initially
-If you go right from paper trading to live trading with larger shares, you’re likely to lose a lot of money

Different Ways to Trade or Invest in the Stock Market

in this week’s lesson what I’d like to do is share with you the different ways or the methods that you can actually trade. I’m not going to go into every little concept or detail of how to execute these and how to be profitable in them.
I just want to show you the different varieties that you can actually put on for your trades or investments.
Trading based on Direction
The first way that you can trade is trade based on direction, when you’re trading based on direction there’s two directions that you can trade. You can trade stocks to the up side or the you can trade them to the down side.
If you trade stocks to the upside, you’re looking for a long or a bullish position, the reason they call it bullish is because bulls attack to the up side or long is you’re going to the up side and if you’re trading to the down side it’s a bearish position or typically a short position.
Because what you need to do is if you’re going to the long side maybe people understand the long direction because you buy a stock lower and you sell it at a higher price.
However, not everybody understands a bearish position or a short position, and the way that this works is you sell something at a higher price, let’s say 50 dollars per share and then you buy back at a lower price of let’s say 20 dollars per share.
So you borrowed these shares from a friend or your broker in this case and then you buy them back from market price, allowing you to make money on the difference of per share.
The first way to trade is based on direction and you can trade it either to the long or bullish side or to the down side or the bearish side which is the short position.
Trading based on time
The second way that you can do trade is trade based on time and trading based on time allows you to define how big of an outlook you have and trading based on time, you can have a day trader or you have a swing trader.
Now you also have a long term investor there as well but these are the main two that in the trading community people define them as.
In the day trading world you basically buy and sell a stock within 24 hours, it’s within a day, technically it’s 6 and a half hours because a trading day lasts 6 and a half hours.
A swing trader can hold a stock for multiple days, it could be 1 to 14 days, it could even be multiple months, when you’re holding a stock for multiple months.

How to swing trade stocks in the short term in the stock market. These are the strategies I use to short term trade stocks. It’s very high risk to trade stocks in the short term so only use 10% of your money to do this. I wanted to buy some Google stocks today but even though they beat their earnings, their stock is down 4%. Sometimes the market doesn’t do what’s expected, which is why this is risky. The first strategy is riding the wave of profits once a good earnings report comes out. I bought Netflix stocks after their good earnings report. The stock went up 7% in one day but I bought in too late. If I bought Netflix during the stock market after hours, I would get 5% at least. I sold Netflix stocks for a 1% profit since it started going down. The strategy for swing trading here is to buy after a good report comes out but only if the market likes the company, after prices are in the green for a little while. Do this with blue chip, safe stocks for a better return over time. Another strategy is to buy stocks on a dip. I bought Apple stock and Paypal stock on a 10% dip. Apple gave me 7% in returns over two weeks, and Paypal gave me 5.6% over a short time. Buy companies you’ll be comfortable holding for a long time, so it’s an always win situation even if they go down, just hold it until it’s profits. You want to buy a company with good value numbers, a good P/E Ratio, good P/S Ratio, and good P/B Ratio. Apple is a perfect company in terms of value with a nice price to earnings ratio, price to sales ratio, and price to book ratio. I would be comfortable holding on to Apple stocks even if they dropped further down on a dip. This is how I made money in the stock market with swing trading. 00 so far. Make sure to use only 10-20% of your portfolio in these higher risk swing trades.

0:20 I’ve seen a lot. I’ve been around. And now I want you to understand the rules of the game because most traders lose money. Most investors don’t make very much. Several of my top students and I have turned a few thousand dollars into a few million dollars in just a few years. Which most people think is impossible. It’s not impossible. It’s improbable, and you need to know the basics to get good.
0:45 So, I’m answering your questions. A lot of people ask me what are some basic penny stock trading terms. Let’s start off with the word penny stock.
1:00 Penny stocks are stocks traded under five dollars a share. Some people say under two dollars a share, under one dollar a share, these are basically like long shots. This is not like Amazon or Intel or Bank of America. These are not big companies. These are very speculative companies, and if you’ve seen the movie The Wolf of Wall Street, there’s a lot of scams. They might have one or two products. They might have a little revenue, or sometimes no revenue, just dreams. That is what I trade. This is what I specialize in. I didn’t ask to specialize in this; I’ve just always made a lot more money in penny stocks.
1:35 You should learn the penny stock trading terms going long or going short. Going long means that you can bet on stocks going higher, you’re going long. Going short means you can bet on stocks going lower. Now, this is very applicable to penny stocks, because most penny stocks fail. A lot of these scams crash and burn, so you can make money when they drop. You go short. Have you ever heard the phrase don’t sell yourself short? You know, don’t underestimate yourself.
3:13 There’s also a thing called a breakdown when a stock breaks below the previous lows. Every single day these stocks are moving, and they’re creating little charts based on the high of the day, based on the low of the day. These are another terms. There are so many terms for you to know. 4:20 These are some very, very simple basic penny stock trading terms. Going long, going short, penny stocks, breakouts, breakdowns, short-term, long-term. Breakout, breakdown, I think I already said that. I don’t know, there’s so much to see, so much to talk about.
4:35 You need to treat this as a marathon, okay? To make millions of dollars, you’re not going to do it day one or week one or even month one, probably not even in year one. You need to have a long-term mindset. Not necessarily holding these stocks for long-term, by getting educated.
