There’s no clear line between what counts as trading and what counts as investing, but the two are nonetheless very different practices, and most investors are best served avoiding the former. Why? We answer that question in today’s video.

Interesting topic, thanks!

Basically, if you're a "trader" you don't actually make money.

I think many people who start with the stock market will be traders first and investors later on. For myself I also started trading (not day-trading). I quickly had some good calls which really felt accelerating (you know when you have those 10-20% profit and it looks like month salary), however I also got bitten in the ass when I was on vacation (lets say I was 3K in the plus but ended 7K in the minus because I was just enjoying my holiday….). This let me realize, ok just go investing and I never been happier. Stocks that are currently booming for me are; Pinterest, Alfen and Pacific biosciences. Those are a couple in my portfolio which I think have a great long term goal.

How about buy cheap for about 20 of them and tomorrow which one turns green you sell and the others red one just wait until they green and sell as well, and always keep the list at 20 of them for daily trade. Is that ring any bell?

There is a huge difference between trading and investing? = Take your your profit or someone else will take it for you. if you find a strategy that works for you confidence is gained, i.e if you don't have full experience on how to achieve successful trades get a professional trader who will make those decisions for you to avoid wasting time and money. that's what i do and it works perfect making me 30% profit biweekly

Leave the trading to Jim.

Topic listening. All this explain a true financial education.
August 24th, 2020 at 1:00 pm
nah thats bullshit.
traders can gain money, after that they invest spare money, keep trading for grabbing money from the market.
its not the same but it doesn't mean a trader can't invest.
August 24th, 2020 at 1:43 pm
hey guys. daily warning if you trade you will become one of the 80% of people who lose money due to manipulation of your emotions by the banks. :^) Just invest.
August 24th, 2020 at 1:49 pm
I think we can do both🤷🏾♂️, it's hard work nothing is easy. We can lose money in both anyway.

Dont don’t say all this then not give inputs on what to invest in. Everyone talks about the S&P 500 which is over $3000 for ONE SHARE when most people that are just starting don’t have this much to play with.

August 24th, 2020 at 4:33 pm
I've been doing a lot of research online and checking out different stock trading apps like robinhood, acorns, m1 finance, etc, Question: Is there a specific dollar amount that would constitute for long-term investments? I'm interested in dividend stocks and blue-chip stocks for long-term investments, not interested in day trading or penny stocks.

If I buy shares in a company, does that mean I also own the company? I mean owning less than 50% of the company's shares.
August 24th, 2020 at 5:41 pm
Trying to learn as much as i can since my brother is making 600-800 a week off trading. Do stocks increase in value over a few hrs sometimes? Or do you have to wait longer to make a bit of good money?
Like lets say i buy a stock thats $25 would it increase to $50 or even $100 in an hr or 2 or more?
August 24th, 2020 at 6:39 pm
Hi. How many trades should we take per day /week to be considered as Trader ?

Thank you for explaining the difference.
August 24th, 2020 at 9:36 pm
I have only just stared investing/trading. I didn't really see that big of a difference between the two. I guess I view it all as trading regardless of time. Basically you can go from 'Day Trader', to 'Swing Trader', to 'Investment trader'. That would correspond with your time frames. But maybe I'm missing something. As I say, I have just started so I may be out of my depth when it comes to the intricacies.

I have separate accounts for investing and trading. The boomer strategy I used on my 11-year account gave me larger overall returns.
August 24th, 2020 at 9:58 pm
Can't you basically be an investor and trader by buying stocks when they are a bit low, then sell them when they are high ,then buy them again at low,and on and on and on
August 24th, 2020 at 10:07 pm
Thanks for the heads up.Any company that sell it's shares that you khow, and for how much
August 24th, 2020 at 10:09 pm

You have made a very complicated concept so simple. Thank you so much for providing useful information to the average Joe.
August 24th, 2020 at 11:34 pm
Can you do a video to explain how to know a stock that is either over-priced or under-priced with example. Am gathering all info to know what to look out for before I start trading. Thanks for your video, they are really informative.
August 25th, 2020 at 12:32 am
Hi clay what plays main role in trading experience or any sort of strategy.
August 25th, 2020 at 1:22 am
Thank you for this video!!! You're great !
August 25th, 2020 at 2:10 am
Thanks for the video. Helpful presentation on time frames. I think a key difference too is that day trading or swing tradingwould have a focus on technicals, whereas investing would be much less, if at all, since in a 5 year timeframe or longer one would certainty expect any technical levels could be broken given natural ebb and flow of market.
