With this video, we will be starting a video series to introduce the world of technical analysis to all beginners who are looking to build practical knowledge about this topic.
Mr. Panchamia starts the discussion with the basic features of a stock market through the simple example of buying onions. With this example, we will draw analogies to understand the basics of technical analysis throughout the video.
The video highlights the importance of knowing the inside-out of whichever market we trade-in so that we can understand the behavior of the buyer and seller and the relation between demand and supply.
The discussion moves towards desperation and hoarding and how it brings about a speculative phase in the stock market. Mr. Panchamia remarks how technical analysis helps us “communicate with the market” and helps us understand the price situation of the market.
We will talk about the different types of prices a trader has to deal with – opening, high, low and closing price. These prices give us a holistic view of a stock’s performance and they can even help us compare performance. We will also discuss the weightage we should assign to these different prices while trading.
The discussion moves ahead to the candlestick patterns and their history. We will be talking about how these patterns help us predict performance due to repetition.
The combined factors of price and market participation through volume and open interest help us study technical analysis. We will talk about the four important underlying assumptions and the major differences between fundamental and technical analysis.
Moving on, Mr. Panchamiya will show his own trading model as an example to show us how to create our own model. The discussion will move towards how candlestick charts differ from general bar charts. Also, we will highlight the importance of understanding the intent of the buyers and sellers through candlestick patterns.
We will also talk about some essential terms related to understanding candlestick patterns. Combining the concepts of support and resistance with candlestick charts, we will discuss some examples of charts on Investing.com to see how they help us understand the situation of demand and supply in the market.
We will also show you the different features of Investing.com which we can use to assist our trading. This video also discusses the features of popular candlestick patterns like Marubozu and how to study this pattern.
Mr. Panchamia also highlights some mistakes that beginners might make while they start using candlestick patterns.
