Is it safe to hold "out of the money" credit spreads till expiration? I started with $800 playing credit spreads. I took on ISRG, VFC and AZO. So far so good as I've held them through to expiration. Right now I'm holding on CMG put credit spreads, "SOLD -2 VERTICAL CMG 100 (Weeklys) 30 OCT 20 1210/1205 PUT @.40". Is it safe to hold "out of the money" credit spreads through expiration?

My entry for 1 month Premium- Worst thing you can do trading options: Buying the options with the highest volume, thinking "that's the most popular so how can we all be wrong?" – Know what the greeks are and what they do- do your own research and compare the change in the greeks as you go up/down the strike prices. Don't get eaten by theta on a cheap contract that has a small delta.

Worst thing: Jumping right into trading weekly/monthly options. Dip your toe in generating passive income off selling covered calls/cash secured puts/just straight up owning stocks first. Then use that additional income/gains to buy ITM options that you have high conviction for with plenty of theta… Then adjust your risk over time (shorter expiration trades) as you improve.

Worst mistake: Trading options that are too expensive for your account, and then over trading those options.

Having FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) which also leads to over trading, and risk management mistakes. I've blown up an account over $10,000 doing this.

Always great content. One of the best doing it n teaching it on YouTube, no gimmicks.
Worse mistake is buying options at the money even at bid price during earnings. The market makers play with implied vol like no other. One sec you're paying 7 dollars for a strike price, price moves moves up and down and then in your direction but the option now cost 6.50 which means selling to close will be at a loss. IV is a beast esp during earnings. Learnt my lesson after coule Gs lost.
